About
German photographer Phillip Helmke creates melancholic portrait and landscape photographs with a strong focus on beauty and minimalism. In his work he contrasts humbled reflections of his objects, with powerful and even heroic portrays of nature, creating a strong emotional dichotomy.
Phillip uses the medium of photography as a tool to reflect his inner-most emotions and thoughts in a minimalist and aesthetic way. His portraits of men are an alternative view on masculinity, one that’s subtle and romanticised. Though considered as fashion, his photographs display a more personal approach to his genre and both portray a conflicted emotionality and sorrow.
Phillip Helmke is based in Berlin.
